In fact, a month of silence can destroy and shorten the effects of a powerful ad or campaign. Study top brands- they ‘come out' regularly to interact with everybody. If you want to succeed like them, you cannot sit back and expect manna to fall from heaven!
In school, you were taught that the opposite of silence is probably being noisy, but take it from me that as regards Business, the opposite of being silent is being Active. Being active can impact on many areas of your business. Maintaining an activity level is very essential, ensuring that your clients always receive and expect high standards from you. Consistently delivering on what we say (for example), means that clients know what they can get from us, so we tick their boxes and keep them happy – important for building relationships. Companies should also be consistent with employees, having regulated processes in place so that staff know what they should be doing and what the management expects them to achieve.
For a successful online business especially, being silent equals being ineffective, so keeping up the consistency and reliability is the true hallmark of a successful business. Silence is bad for your business!
#1. No Plan
It’s a bit hard to be Active if you don’t have a plan in the first place. It’s important you have a plan that guides your online business practices and focus. Most people become very worked up when faced with developing a plan, but a plan doesn’t have to be something that is complicated or written in stone. It’s very fine to start small and not know exactly what you need to be doing. A basic plan is just deciding what your approach will be to a certain area of your business.
Your startup or small business cannot afford to make terrible financial decisions based on inconsistent actions, except you want it to sink quickly.
If you have a great website, for example, it would be unwise for you to burn yourself out writing 3 blog posts a week and then not post for a month, or even writing 3 blog posts a week and not promoting them because you don’t have time!
#2. The Plan is Useless
I hope you don't get offended with the adjective but I had to find a very ‘nice' word to describe many plans brands use to defeat silence, which never work at all.
Once you have created your plan, you have to bring it to life. Deciding to post 3 times a day to Facebook is a great start, but it’s pretty useless unless it’s put into action. Create schedules that will support your plan, make to-do lists, and track your progress.
Executing a plan is as simple as scheduling, and building habits/routines to do what you plan. Don't get me wrong- it is not easy but it is definitely worth it!
#3. The Method is Useless
Being active does not mean spamming the mails of many people, or using every trending social media hashtag. You have to be realistic enough to learn what methods work, which depends on the kind of clients you've got.

#4. The Brand Has No Identity
You've got to make your prospective clients know that you are providing them with quality- that stands out! It's like asking a lady out- you won't win by good impressions alone. You have to prove it. You've got to stand out of the crowd.
#5. Waiting for customers to MAGICALLY Appear
Are you waiting for customers to come to you? Then you’re making a mistake. If you’re not being active by evolving and implementing new marketing strategies, you won’t be able to attract the right audience you want.
You may focus your efforts on adding a new, different target audience. Or it might mean starting over with a completely new customer base. Either way, your messaging, visuals, and strategy should change when you’re trying to reach a new audience. Silence is bad for your business – you should definitely know that.
