So today, I would be sharing with you the 5 important Branding Strategies that would skyrocket your business and make you have a very successful brand!
Strategy #1: Know Your Clients/Audience
Whether you represent an online brand or you are a celebrity on TikTok, you cannot make much progress until and unless you know your audience. Your brand cannot serve everybody!
If you do not have a clear vision for your brand, you will waste a lot of money!
A lot of business owners buy Ads online innocently and to their amazement, their ads do not give them the required results. They get Engagements, but new users do not go to their site, send the a mail or follow their social media pages. The answer is not far fetched- they do not know their audience.
I will show you two examples. If you go to a certain country to set up a local business, take for example, Spain (where they speak Spanish), and the inscriptions above your shop was written in Latin or French, some people would be able to read it. This category (which will be a very small percentage) would stop by at your shop and might be your customers. Did you make sales- YES. But did your business make sense? NO.
The second example I would be giving is the example of a Facebook Ad I ran weeks ago. I used a very small amount of money for this ‘experiment’. Thanks to Facebook and so many other advertising networks, you can get some information about the people that saw your ad, and those that interacted with it. Here’s a segment of my ad. With it, I was able to know which gender reacted the most to my ad.
So many business owners do not have a specific audience in view. As a result, they tend to be unproductive. And it’s not their fault- they just don’t know how important it is to have a clear audience in mind. So a quick advice is ‘If you do not understand Facebook Ads Platform, do not go ahead to buy an Ad’
So the question you might want to ask is “How can I know my audience?”
To answer that question (if you have it), I would give you 5 factors to consider that would help you in carving out your audience and targeting them. This would save you a lot of time- and money:
How Do I Know My Audience?
- What age range do your intended users fall into?
- What countries or locations would need your product?
- Are you targeting the poor, average-income-earners or the elite?
- Is your product a necessity or a luxury?
- Do your products have fixed prices, or do you allow negotiations?
The list is endless, my friend. Answering these questions sincerely would bring you steps closer to identifying your audience and ‘customizing’ your products to suit their needs or wants.
Strategy #2: Brand Research
Gone are the days of Trial-By-Error. Except you are extremely rich, you will go bankrupt in business if you do not have a clear direction. And a way to get direction is to study three things:
- Success stories of Successful Brands
- Failure Stories of Successful Brands
The truth is that, If you do not have a clear vision for your brand, you will waste a lot of money! I do not want you to, neither do you intend to, too. So you have to research! I have a list of marketing and software developing gurus I listen to that have a Track record of excellence, and I have begun to replicate their results. Buy books, enroll in online courses and go the extra mile so that your brand can eventually stand out. This is a not-so-commonly-used Branding Strategy!
Branding is about defining what you stand for and at the same time attract prospects that are likely to turn into customers.
Strategy #3: Invest
Let us study the case of two imaginary companies, Company A and Company B.
Let us assume that Company A has a large audience, with about 53% of them coming in from the next town. Company A does not see the reason to move their business online- they earn about $50,000 a month so they think they are doing well.
Let’s say you are the owner of Company B and you want to really take over the market. How do you do that?
You can leverage on the following ‘mistakes’ your competitor is making, like:
- Make your business operate online.
- Offering discounts and running online ads to target the users of product A
- Offer a delivery service
- Giving your customers a nice greeting card alongside the product when they make purchases.

Does your Brand have an old product that seems to have a lot of attention? You should look into bringing it back to the limelight! Satisfy your customers, not just your instincts, because you are not the one buying your own products. You might need to create a new flyer for it or run social media campaigns on it!
Even if you run a blog, always share old articles too. This is an age-long SEO strategy for successful brands!
Strategy #5: Social Media Branding
Social media is gradually becoming one of the most effective tools to market your brand and stand out of the crowd. When social media branding is done correctly, it can and will help you connect to your target market in an optimal way. Social media branding forms a natural but an essential part of your overall marketing efforts on major social platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
