How I Got Almost 4k YouTube Views in 30 Days Posted on June 6, 2024June 6, 2024 By Tomiwa Akanbi When it comes to making content, many people tend to focus on ‘results’. As the Kabiyesi of Digital Marketing, I am convinced that if we focus on the process and understand the algorithm, we will surpass our dream results. I decided to take my content seriously last month, and I have been posting back-to-back on Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube. Today, I got the notification that I have surpassed over 30,000 total views on my YouTube content. How did I achieve this? I am going to give you a ‘solid summary’ in this article. I know it sounds like words and the opposite, but I mean that I will highlight the pillars that helped me reach this milestone. At the time of writing this blog post, I have 265 subscribers on YouTube, and I am confident that by the end of this year, I should have at least 3000 subscribers. Why do I sound arrogantly sure? It is because few things can beat consistency. When consistency is now targeted at the right path, nothing can defeat it. Absolutely nothing. It is like saying a comet is coming to the Earth. You cannot pitch tents, canopies or umbrellas to stop the impact. Understand the Algorithms These platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, Youtube) have what we call ‘algorithms’. What determines whether your content will be seen by a lot of people is not the quality of camera you use, or anything of surface level. There is a formula that ‘classifies’ every content that is being posted. I studied Systems Engineering in my university days – with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence, I know what I am saying. Imagine that you are at the door to a party- a party organized by your aunt. So your aunt says that you should put all the ladies wearing blue clothing in the VIP section of the party that is labeled, and you should put everyone else in the other category. That’s a picture of how social media platform algorithms work. There are a couple of features that the algorithm (you at the gate) looks out for in every content that people upload on the platforms. I advise that if you want to take your content journey seriously too, you should take out time to study these platforms and their algorithms. TikTok is like Instagram. But TikTok is NOT INSTAGRAM. Facebook is like LinkedIn. But Facebook is not like LinkedIn. YouTube shorts are way different from Instagram reels and TikTok videos. Understand each platform – that is how you will be able to repurpose content correctly. Make Content People Need, or Like This is very important because one of the ways that the algorithm knows a ‘good content’ aside from the way it enters the platform is by seeing how human beings that are also on the platform react to the content. Did so many people suddenly like and engage in a certain post? That shows the algorithm that the content is very good – and the algorithm will push the content to a larger set of people. Why Is The Algorithm Helping Me? Are you getting a lot of views? Don’t feel like a superstar. It is clearly business, the algorithm does not have feelings for you. The goal of the algorithm is to keep people on the platform for as long as possible. Have you ever opened TikTok for 5 minutes of laughter and you ended up spending 40 minutes? We have all been there. Instagram algorithm wants Muslims to stay on Instagram for long, so the algorithm shows them Dua and Muslim content- as many as possible, especially if they like it. If someone has been liking the posts of motivational speakers on Tiktok in the past week, the next time they open Tiktok, they will see all kinds of Motivational speeches. From Vusi Thembekwayo to even Denzel Washington. I am Not Seeing Results – Help! If you are not seeing results and you are sad, you should distance yourself a bit from the results. Keep making your content. Very soon, you will get a notification like this: If you have made 100 content and none of them is doing well, that is when you should take a break and re-evaluate: Have I been making meaningful content As a normal person, will I watch my own content? Can I make the content better and more enjoyable? Am I being too fake when making this content? Do I understand the algorithm? Do I need help? If the answers from the questions above point to the fact that you are on the right path, just keep being consistent. Do not give up!
